Cartooniversity consists of day camps, after school classes,
artist-in-residencies, and workshops.
Information for each type of cartooning experience is listed below.

SUMMER Day Camps

Cartooniversity summer camps are a unique opportunity for kids of any skill level to learn all aspects of cartoon drawing from local professional cartoonist, Jeff Johnson. This week-long day camp emphasizes developing each child’s artistic style in a positive, encouraging environment. All your camper needs to bring is a lunch, a lidded water bottle if desired, and a positive attitude!

All supplies will be furnished by the instructor and placed in individual Ziploc bags, which are to be kept with the student in class throughout the week and taken home after class on Friday.

While Cartooniversity is operating under COVID-19 safety guidelines, campers are asked to keep their materials, food, and drinks to themselves.

Strict adherence to State and local Health Department COVID-19 safety guidelines will be required of ALL participants. This includes: wearing masks that cover the mouth and nose at all times, social distancing, and frequent sanitization of hands and work surfaces.

before & after school classes

After the complete shutdown of all Cartooniversity classes and camps in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Cartooniversity is hopeful that a return

to in-person classes can happen in Fall 2021.

Any new bookings will be listed here if and when schools resume

in-person enrichment classes. Stay tuned!

*COVID-19 Update: We are equally hopeful that Fall 2021 will see the return of in-person residency options at schools in western Washington.

Jeff's residencies are also hosted by school PTSAs, and are integrated into your child's school day. He brings elements of Cartooniversity to single classrooms, selected grade levels and even entire schools.

To find out how you can bring Jeff to your child's school,

please contact your PTSA.
