ABOUT
ABOUT CARTOONIVERSITY
Starting with the first cartooning class at the Northwest Center in Bellevue, Wash. in 1991, Cartooniversity has grown into a dynamic series of hands-on classes, workshops, artist-in-residencies and week-long day camps. With Redmond, Wash.-based cartoonist Jeff Johnson at the helm, the program has become a rousing success enjoyed by thousands of young artists throughout the Pacific Northwest. Areas of study include: character development, expressions, action/movement, layout, perspective, backgrounds, lettering, and much more. Kid-toonists expand their portfolios with engaging projects such as character profiles, Surreal Cereals and flipbook animation, to name a few.
